I know that Texeira(sp?) is a stud but I still think they gave up too much for him.

You guys are optimists, or maybe I'm just a pessimist. As far as I'm concerned, we sold our future for a player we may not even have next spring. Would you want to deal with Scott Boras twice in one off-season (Andruw, Teixeira)? Hmmm . . . do we have a good CF down on the farm someplace? We'll see, but at least we didn't do it the Yankee way (go out and buy a guy, forgetting we actually have decent trade value in the system).

The Braves are not in the playoffs every year by giving up too much. They do what they have to do to win. Atlanta is one of the best run organizations in baseball because their minor league system is deep, they know what they can give up without hurting the team and get as much as they can in return.

Don't forget you also got Ron Mahay along with Teixeria. It may not seem like alot but you'll get alot of great hitting, defense, & pitching from these two. Trust me. I've been a Rangers fan my whole life so I've seen what these 2 players can bring to the team. You'll be happy you got them. Besides, you gave us 3 minor leaguers. You probably wouldn't have seen them for a while anyway.

They gave up the top 3 prospects in the MLB along with Salty. They filled a much needed hole in their roster and I trust the Braves scouts to fill up the Braves minor league system with top prospects yet again. They always find a way to do it.
