Are you using wireless? If you are, I am having that problem too. For some reason my computer won't log on to the internet if someone else in my house is logged on to the internet at the same time. This defeats the purpose of wireless so I don't know what's going on. I think you should call tech help.

There could be many reasons why the system is not connecting to the internet...

1. Make sure you have the cat5 cable from the win2k machine pluged into the correct port of the router.

2. Make sure your network adapter does not have any errors on it in Device Manager

3. Make sure your highspeed internet connection in Network Connections from Control panel, that it's TCP / IP Protocol is set to "Obtain IP and Obtain DNS Automatically" and make sure DHCP Is enabled.

4. It is also possible that the win2k machines winsock is damaged, to repair the windows2k winsock.. Open a command prompt < start / run / cmd or command.exe>

and type the following at the prompt... : netsh winsock reset
