What good does being absolutely honest do? Better to spare someone's feelings.

If the lie doesn't hurt anyone and if the truth would and if the truth wouldn't make any difference, I would probably lie. However, if the truth could prevent further harm, then I would tell the truth.

i will tell little white lies to avoid someones feeling if i cannot be diplomatic about getting the truth out...

I lie sometimes to protect my Mom. Not really lie, but keep the whole story from her, because I know something will keep her up worrying for days.

i have lied to spare someones feelings but i try not to...i just end up hurting them worse...honesty IS the best policy.

No...someone asks me a question, I'll tell the truth, but I usually won't be mean about it.
If they don't like it, then they shouldn't have asked, or have said what they wanted the answer to be.
