My parents have been having insurance problems and with that said I am not allowed to play football because I have no insurance..should I just quit because it will relieve my parent's stress, and plus we have to raise all this money that my parent's can barely afford. Is football really worth it, Im not a starter , I made the varsity team if I played this year I would play for varsity.

Yes it is. There are great players that are really small but they have managed to be good. You could be one of them.

No, rugby is a man's game, if you're talking about American football rather than Association football (what they call Soccer), which would be worth it, no. If/as you have to get kitted up like a refrigerator to stand any chance of not having your neck broken for the sake of getting far too close to a load of sweaty men I figure there has to be something dubious about it that makes it 'worth it' to some..

Forget those cynical retards who were so quick to label your honest question as "unamerican". Patrotisim should not play a part in judging a sport. You should follow your heart and do what feels right.
However I think you should not since football is a rather barbaric sport and injuries are inevitable. And you don't even have medical insurance.
I've been playing football since jv. It's a fun sport but it is not the most noble one.

Check into if your school would cover an injury before you make your decision. Some schools have alumni funded accounts set up to cover injuries if the family needs it. However recieving these funds would make you ineligible to play in college, but if your seriously injured you probably wouldn't play in college anyway. But is it worth it, Of course its worth it. Most people who do get injured playing football do not regret stepping onto the field. Its a great sport and ahelluva lot of fun. Just listen to your coaches, & use the right techniques to stay healthy.

well i think thats you opinion if its worth. i sucks that ur parents cant afford insurance but when i played in high school they provided the insurance company and it wasnt very expensive like 50 bucks i think for the whole year. if u like football and want to play find a way to do it, its an awesome time even if ur not a started u'll get playing time if u show u want it!

the average signing bonus for a first round draft pick this year was around 15 million dollars so if you are willing to work hard and get good, then yeah I would say football is worth it

From spectator's standpoint, no. The game has almost no skills involved. Being strong and able to run fast are not skills. Try hitting a 95 mph fast ball. Sorry I didn't really answer your question. I simply made a statement.

As much as I would like to say "stay in football", it's a bloody sport. If you don't have insurance, you should join something lighter. Like baseball.
I personally did just that. Joined baseball

To ask "is football really worth playing" is totally un-american.
