I think its great but I think you can be 100% happy not ever getting married just like some couples are perfectly happy never having children. I think it really depends on the person though. Do you like being single? If not then it is important to you because the dating different people all the time will get old and eventually you wont have that many dates. If you have a better time being single and doing your own thing then maybe marriage is not for you. At one point didn't want to get married and just wanted to adopt a child.

Statistically, it has been shown that happily married people live longer than single people overall. Marriage was instituted by Christ as a sacrament, so it is of the utmost importance. It may not be right for you, but it does not take anything away from its importance to others.

i need more details. is it you arent sure if you ever want to get married? or are you married and contemplating divorce? i think marriage is so sacred and special. i am not married yet but when i am, i'm going to make sure its only once. you have to truely love a person and have many things in common. you have to be able to enjoy each other even through the rough patches. and when things get tough, like money issues, or sex not being what you want it, or kids, or your jobs. you have to say to yourself that you will get through all that. you have to look at that person as your other half. that you are not complete without them. as if you are one person. you have to be able to rely on that person and trust them with your life and heart and soul. if you cant do that with the person you are with or with anybody then maybe marriage isnt for you. but if you can, it means your entire life with the one person who makes you complete! so i think its important.

Only as important as it is to you as the individual. Not everyone is cut out to be married. You need to know yourself to know if that's something you want or feel it would improve the quality of your life.

well depends...if you are a woman and want children then its VERY important. cuz then you would want to feel secure and taken care of with a father for your kids.
On the other hand...if you are a guy with a great career you might be more happier living your life unmarried. then you can go out and date as many women as your heart desires. think about it...you can go to the bar whenever you want, go on vacation whenever you want and have a different woman in bed every night without worrying about a babysitter, a nagging wife, or inlaws.

My married life is my life. I truly don't know where I would be if I wasn't married. I married my best friend, the love of my life. I was not complete til I met him.
