art clicked the yellow icon, and after it starts the scanning, it stops and tells me that cannot continue due to an "error", but I tried in vain to find out what it was, but to no avail. Can someone please tell me what's all about? Thank You!

It is not unusual for malware to cause this problem. Try the two programs below and if they don't find malware you should completely uninstall McAfee and reinstall. Make sure all elements of Mcafee are disabled before uninstalling thru the Add/Remove program. It is actually recommended to uninstall McAfee while in safe mode. That way you know there is no McAfee processes running.

Install Super Antispyware. Run it in safe mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

Run the online scan for Bit Defender in normal mode. Allow it to quarantine whatever it finds.

That's why in problems like this I just kick the software off, go to my account and reinstall it.
