We were our favourite Indian Restaurant tonight & there were some Indians eating in there & they were having Poppadums as a 1st course.

I thought that it was just us English who had poppadums like this & that it was actually incorrect to have them like this.

Could someone clarify for me? Or perhaps there's not a correct way?

Poppadums with red onions and mango chutney. Just brilliant as a starter, mid meal or afters.

When out in polite Northern Hemisphere company, it is always correct to eat 12 per person, if male.

If female, it is polite to be slightly aghast at the male eating behaviour.
