Yes.
The childish antics in the House and Senate are not going unnoticed by middle-America...those who determine election outcomes. As for the old timer Dems, we all know them well to be far left. The newcomers, however, those that tipped the balance of power in '06, have not governed as they campaigned.
The left in this country have no clue as to why the Dems won back the House and Senate in the last election. They'll say it was for one thing only--to force the immediate withdrawal from Iraq. WRONG! The ones who won, which tipped the balance of power, were elected because their campaigns focused on conservative principles. Many Republicans who were so fed up with the current crop of Republicans who were voting as liberals in Congress and who were having sex scandals, both hetero- and homo-, either stayed home that day or voted for the Dem. Conservativism is what won this election for the Dems in '06. This country is moving to the right: more self-accountability, less coddling of criminals, smaller government, and lower taxes. The Democrat Party politicians do not realize this fact, to their own peril.
Middle-America is coming to realize that the wealth redistribution, class-envy warfare incitements, repeated releasing from jail of hardened criminals to kill and rape over and over again, the coddling of Muslim terrorists, and Socialized health care, all Party platform planks so loved by the Democrat politicians, will be much to the detriment of their and their kids' future prosperity, security, and health.
I think the Dems will be clobbered in Nov '08.

I hope we have the guts to legitimize a 3rd party candidate
The people at the controls right now are ideologues, and if they have their way we will end up with some kind of unholy alliance of big business and Christian conservatism. Military-industrial theocracy isn't something I would like to live under. I used to vote Republican. I won't anymore. I didn't leave the GOP; they left me. But the Dems aren't much better. A viable Independent Party might be the answer, but the pols on both sides of the aisle will do their level best to stop that from happening, because it threatens their grip on power. Yeah, I'd call that a crisis. W will go down, I am confident, as the worst President we have ever had, against some stiff competition (e.g., Harding). The damage he has done -- diplomatic, social, financial, military -- will take generations to correct.

What's going to destroy both Hillary and Obama is the fact that they want us all to share what we've worked hard for with the lazy dead beats. We share more than we should right now. Americans are going to start thinking long and hard about that one and it'll bring em down. I think a Giuliani/Romney ticket would be better than any Liberal Dem, but I'm praying that Fred Thompson will be our next president.

What does "vica versa" mean?
If your rant was correct, you wouldn't even feel a need to post it. It is the fact that you felt that you had to say those things that tell me that they're not true.
Besides, if you think Hillary and Obama aren't electable, why are you asking if Romney/Giuliani would be "strong enough to defeat" them?
Interesting dichotomy in your post, wouldn't you say?
