Bill Russell: 5MVP's and 11 rings in 13 years. Two of the rings came as a player coach.
Michael Jordan: 5MVP's and 6 rings in 15 years.
Bill Russell is better than Jordan.

depends on what you really mean by that. Oscar Robertson averaged a triple double for an entire season! Wilt Chamberlin was the most dominant force in the league's history. and Robert Horry has won more titles.. :) Probably noone was better then MJ, but the big O was a hell of a player. And watch out for LeBron.

Alpha forgot about Kareem Abdul-Jabbar...he was also better than Jordan.
And, even though they're wrong, a lot of people on Y/A insist that Olajuwon is the greatest center of all time... therefore, if he's better than Wilt, better than Russell and better than Kareem (as well as being better than Shaq), you have to say that Olajuwon was better than Jordan.
I don't agree about Olajuwon, and even the people who say he was the best center ever base that opinion solely on watching highlights of one play against David Robinson in a playoff series.... but if he's the best center ever, then that automatically makes him also better than Jordan.

'Alpha....I'd also throw Elgin Baylor and Jerry West up there too, along with Kareem.
Jordan never had to go up against the competition that these guys did.
I'd put Jordan at #9 or 10 (toss up between him and Havlicek)
BTW....Good answer "BRITT".....
