A minimum of a 2.5 gallon tank, heated and filtered
even better a 5 gallon, heated, filtered and live plants (they love to rest on them)

Weekly partial waterchanges of 25% with a gravel siphon

Hope that helps
Good luck

A betta needs at least 2.5 gallons with a filter and a heater, as well as plants to rest on and play in. The larger your tank, the less often you'll have to clean it.

Don't buy "betta bowls" or "betta containers" - it's not true that bettas thrive in small spaces, despite what others like to say. Your fish will suffer in such a small space.

Its best to keep them in a gallon tank or a five gallon tank. Thats heated and has a good substrate. and lighted as well with live plants or plastic, whichever u choose. I dont reccomend that you keep them in those " betta container" that are really small as the bettas arent very happy when theyre in there. It stoo small and they cant really swinm in there. I keep mine in a makeshift tank of a rubbermaid tub thats been really well scrubbed, and now ive had neptune for about a month now and he seems very happy having made a large bubble nest on the surface of the water. Hope this helps!

well bettas are very easy to maintain.. they really need a huge tank like others.. a fish bowl will do great.. but if you want him to feel free you can get him a five gallon with several decorations.. maybe friends.. such as tetras..
