If liberals ran the U.S. would we be attacked with the attackers having no threat of retaliation?

I think liberals would ruin the U.S. We would be attacked and we would not be able to retaliate. Also, the military would be downsized to crap. As well as them pulling us out of every conflict worldwide but to no avail because the terrorists would still attack us and with no retaliation. Look at Clinton, could have gotten bin laden and didn't....U.S. Cole Bombed, and we dropped a few bombs and called it a day.

There are two types of potential attackers: foreign governments and terrorists. Any attack by a foreign country would be a suicide mission. Not only there are nukes, technology and sizeable military, US is also a part of NATO alliance. It would be the same as taking on the whole world.


Terrorists are different. The whole purpose of terrorist acts is to cause a reaction of the country attacked based on fear and not logic. US getting bogged down in Iraq while breaking it's military, spending huge resources and brewing hatred against America around the world is EXACTLY what terrorists wanted in the first place.

Military in a sense of conventional sizeable force geared towards an open conventional warfare is simply not the right tool to deal with terrorism.

A far better plan would be not to plunge the country into a costly military compaign, but run an international public compaign to discredit terrorists as a group of whackos, improve intelligence and take them out by sending small surgical groups of Delta forces.

If by liberals, you mean all Democrats, then you are absolutely wrong. I believe you will find that more elected Democrats have served this country than the pamper-wearing far-right, tough talking do-nothings except send your kids off to be killed Republicans.
Why can't people just stop lumping people in to these broad categories and then fallaciously argue that all within the group blindly follow everything associated with the broad category. Yeap, the Dumbocrats and Re-pubic-ans both do it.
Can anyone just study a statement and base their analysis on the statement without your opinion of the person asking coming in to play?

Unfortunately that is the consequence of appeasement. Had we listened to the appeasers during WW2 we would be speaking German or Japanese. Had we listened to the appeasers during the Cold War we would be speaking Russian. We back down we lose! If we were fighting a more evolved mentality then perhaps negotiation would be the best course but with terrorism that is not the case.

No they wouldn't start wars that kill 600,000 civilians, and they wouldn't back Saudi Arabia by keeping residual U.S. troops there (which in turn props up the monarchy the common man hates) so pretty much besides Israel (and they probably would find a situation to the Palestine-Israel problem) there wouldn't be many people who would want to attack us.
