Hiya, I have just started a new job - alas only in a call centre for now, but i need some new work clothes, iv been seriously over dressing because i feel better for work in "formal wear" rather than just smart wear - but iv been told that im stiring attention to myself, so i need to sort it out!

Ive got 400.00 UK to spend on work clothes and shoes, where could i go? I ideally need 10 outfits.

Obviously ten isnt really set in stone, but 40 per outfit is reasonable in my opinion :/
anyway thanks for your helps guys.
think i might just grab my debit card and walk around the shops and put the outfits together myself - much much easier than you lot trying to advise me :)

try marks and spencers they have a good range. my advice is to not spend too much on shoes for now. you can treat your self on that later, when you get pay checks and what not. so buy just one or two pairs of shoes, and spend the rest on the essentials- top and trousers/skirt. you could try charity shops if you don't mind.. you might as well look good and save lifes at the same time(just make sure you wash the clothes you buy from there first). before you buy a top that costs £30 more than another one that looks exactly the same except it has one tiny little stupid decoration i.e a bow on it, think again. you can buy the other one that costs less, and buy a bow and sow it on. you have to think of your budget.... good luck!

For work clothes, Express would be the best and has well tailored clothes also custom tailors pants for you but you have to leave it for a few days. Try also H & M and sometimes the Gap and Old Navy have some classic pieces.

If you have £400 pounds to spend on work clothes you should'nt be working at a call centre!!!!

If you are serious try 'Next' for a good suit with a couple
of conservative tops, a good pair of shoes. If anything left in budget, try ebay.

normally you can dress casual for the call center.
If you shopping in the United States, I'd suggest you go to Experess. They have nice closes, you can chose casual and somewhat formal, this way its a middle ground for you.

Check out H & M. Here's the link: http://www.hm.com/

You can also integrate some less formal pieces w/ your existing wardrobe to dress down a bit.
