We need more info, like is this at home or work and what kind of computer.
At work, sometimes the network police put a group policy up that prevents people from changing the settings unless they have admin permissions. This is much more involved on how to get around this.
At home, just right click on the desktop and select properties, then the Screen Saver tab, then change the Wait to a longer time. You can also deselect the locking feature.

What operating system do you use?
If it's Windows, the solution is easy:
1. Right click your mouse on an empty area on your desktop, and choose Properties from the menu.
2. In the window that appears, left lick on the Screensaver tab.
3. Uncheck the box that says "On resume, password protect. "
4. Left click the Power button on the lower panel. If you select the Minimal Power management scheme, your monitor will not go on standby. This means your screensaver will run until you stop it by hitting a key or by moving your mouse. If you click on the Advanced tab, you can uncheck the box labeled "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby." This will work even if you prefer to keep your previous power management scheme.
5. Click on Apply/OK until the window closes.
If you use a different os, consult your help section.

There are some settings in control panel to turn it off, I think it's in the user account settings, I had that same problem as well.
