I like guns n roses, alot, its my fave band, then everybody went and quit, and i havnt listened to anything of theirs since then. I got the new velvet revolver cd, libertad, and its ok, but i dont like it all that much, gnr is way better. the old gnr, anyways. wat do u guys think, i mean, theres 3 people from gnr in velvet revolver, thats alot, but they sound way different, and i think gnr was better.

ya anything with slash is a ok with me! i like gnrs music, but velvet revolvers singer is better than axl. and i agree with whoever said it b4. axl is a huge prick. im kinda pulled. i luv velvet revolver. i dont luv gnr. i luv their music. but the band was mostly pricks exept for slash who is just, um, slash.

It's a tie to me because I love Guns N 'Roses but near the end Axl got crazy and only a few songs were good. But I was a big stone temple pilots fan, then when most of the guys of GNR and Scott got together it was awesome for me (I'm seeing Velvet Revolver in August) But on songs i probably have more fav GNR songs than velvet but they rock equally to me.

I agree, GNR is way better...it will never be GNR without Axl (regardless it being under a different name and regardless of Axl Being a jerk) i do like Velvet Revolver..but you are right its definitly NOT GNR. GNR had their own unique sound..and VR doesn't even come close, regardless of having 3 GNR members.

You already answered your question in the last 2 paragraphs. Im as big a GnR fan as they come,but Axl is an @$$. He screwed over the original Guns and now he has screwed over the fans that put him where he is by makin us wait for soooo long for an album that is NOT worth the wait. So, you see that the real key for the success of the original GnR has to do with the rest of the band.Slash is the reason that most kids at the time picked up a guitar. So, since this wait with Axl and his overwhelmingly winning personality has forced my hand to favor Velvet Revolver. I like all aspects of the band. Duffs base, Matts drums, Scotts voice and Slashs guitar. What an awesome combination.

I like the old guns n roses alot also but i am going to have to pick Velvet Revolver. I just love their music. Unfortunately only about 3 other people in my school listen to them but i love them. I saw them live in concert, they rocked! Scott Weiland's voice is amazing. Contraband was also very awesome.Yet on the other side, GNR has some really amazing stuff. I guess its just your opinion and anybody can argue with it.

I don't like GNR because Axl Rose is a prick... he always acted like he was better than everyone else in the group. He actually came to my hometown of Danville years ago for a preformance w/ GNR and Axl was arrested for ransacking the hotel there and then Axl and some chics went walking the streets nude. They were banned from our city! Really!
I saw Axl on interviews and he is so stuck on himself that I was so turned off by him. I still like Slash and Duff and really like Velvet's last stuff but, hadn't heard the latest.
GNR bandmates don't even get along with Axl because he is the way he is... haven't you ever watched any of the Behind the Musics w/ them? Sure, they had some good songs but, I base my decisions on more than just that!

im gonna be the odd one out and say VR. Only because im a huge metallica fan and after the concert they did with GnR im not to pleased with Axl. I think that after everything Slash and the others had enough of a career to move on and make some really kick *** music.
But i do like the GnR music....they're both good i just like VR better.

yes gnr is great and will always be great
but i prefer VR if u think of it their basically a super band
dont get me wrong gnr is better by constancy : almost all of appetite for destruction
VR only have slither that made it really big
but VR sound is more to my liking

Tough call...
Of course - classic GN'R is the best, but between the two alternatives:
"Axl and his new band" still rock - they put on a great show during their "Chinese Democracy Tour" back in 2002 (I missed the one last year). This DESPITE the fact that their guitarist wore a KFC bucket on his head ;);)
Velvet Revolver released an amazing first album - but their second didn't live up to expectations...
SO I would have to stick with Axl and the boys - but only because you MADE me choose ;););)
