Look up the power consumption of your computer, monitor, etc. For this purpose, consider the standby power. If your computer supports power management, consider setting it to suspend or hibernate after half an hour of inactivity. Then, check your electric bill for how much you pay for electricity. In the US, 10-20 cents per hour is common.

11.44 cents per kw/hr
or
$0.01144 watts per hr

monitor (crt) 1A *120V =120 watts
computer .75A * 120V = 90 watts
speaker= 14 watts (neglect if u want to)
90 + 120 = 224 watts in 1 hour
$0.0256 an hour to run ur computer
