Dear Yazmine,
Let me as YOU a question... IF your good friend were to tell you his maternal grandmother was African-American and he is legally black under Mississippi law.
Would you tell him to stop being black?
Being of African-American decent…being born with a bad hart valve… Being born with an anatomically female brain in a male body... Or being gay... They are all accidents of birth. No one is to blame, and there’s no point in pointing fingers over any of it.
The fact that he is gay is no cause for you to try to change him... Or to run. In fact it's not something that CAN be changed.
I am going to assume your friend TOLD you this... [In the LGBT community, we call that coming out.] Coming out is NEVER easy, sometimes it's not even safe. Your friend felt that you and he are close enough for him to trust you with this information, he is in fact complimenting both you and the relationship between the two of you.
MY advise is that you take the compliment for what it is... and do some sole searching. I think you will realize that NOONE is perfect. Not me... Not your friend... Not even yourself.
IF Jesus could forgive and accept an adulteress he had never met... Can't you find it in your hart to accept your gay friend?
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for... but it's the truth as we all know it to be here in the "Gay" community.
God doesn’t make mistakes. BUT she dose make challenges. Is your challenge for today to learn to love a gay friend as Jesus loves you?
IF it would help, there are organizations out there for friends and family of LGBT persons... They may be of more help to you than a question posted in Yahoo.

Hugs,
PennyAnn

you can say anything you want but fact is since your friend did not choose to be gay he cannot choose to become straight. Just like you cannot choose to become gay since you never actually made the choice to be straight.

So, just relax and enjoy the friendship and forget the fact your friend is gay. After all, unless the two of you want to date and possibly marry there is no reason for sexual orientation to enter into the friendship in th efirst place other than as a topic of conversation. Of course if you want to lose a freind, then you can persist in trying to change the unchangable. And at tha tpoint make sure you also try to make all yoru black friends become white too.

What the hell?
WHY would you tell him to do something he can't do???
Ok, maybe some people chose to be gay, but that's entirely different than people who are genetically gay (Yes, there's actually research on this stuff).

That's so ignorant, I can't believe it. Have you ever asked someone "Why are you a girl??? STOP BEING A GIRL~!!!!"

Don't try to change him or his beliefs. He's not trying to make you gay is he? Be respectful, a good friend, and support him in a difficult situation. It's very difficult for people to come out because their afraid of people like you who won't accept them and their lifestyle.

OMG! He does need help! He needs friends that are actually going to support him and love him regardless of his decisions!

What a nice friend to bring this up! Now hand him over until you can treat him with respect, and stop being selfish.

You can't stop someone from being gay and you cant change him. that would be like him tryin to get you to go gay. If your a real friend you will support him not change him.

He's gay, you can't tell him who to like. You just can't tell someone to stop being gay and bam, he's straight the next morning. You're not a good friend if you don't approve of your friend's lifestyle.

Yes! You mustn't stop imposing your way onto others until the whole world is just like you! ...Or else dead and out of the way.

And people wonder why Christians get a rap.

Lol, if he wants your help, then do what you can but if not, just be his friend. That's what he would need more than anything else. Enough people with be ostracizing him. If he chooses that, he'll need a friend most of all. You can't change anyone. They need to do that for themselves.
