Get him a Bible, and write something nice in the cover. It helps if you can pick out a nice verse to quote also. If he's smart, he'll hang on to it. That's the number one tool to keep a marraige together. He may not read it right away, but as soon as something bad happens he'll reconsider!
It's thoughful and doesn't cost too much for a plain black leather Bible. They are also great keepsakes for families. I have my great-grandmother's Bible. Without it, I wouldn't have known the names of all of my Italian ancestors.
A good scripture for your husband might be Colossians 3:13 ~ "Get along with each other, and forgive one another. If someone does wrong to you, forgive that person because the Lord forgave you."
That's good advice for any married couple!

Boy you are just like my wife in that you worry about these things.
In all likelihood he just wants to spend some quality time with you and get some action at the end of the night. It's all about being together, so please don't waste mental energy dwelling on the perfect idea.
Have fun!
I now have had ten anniversaries - all I want is to eat a decent meal, take a walk, and relax later in the evening. I will show appreciation for gifts, extra's, etc. etc. but do not expect them.
Go out to dinner at a restaurant you can afford, take a walk in the park, and spend some romantic time at home. I guarantee you that is enough to make the average man happy.

The simplest but most personal memories are the best, its not the expense but the thought and effort put in. Aug 31, a Friday perfect. Have the house all cleaned and the kitchen set up like a restaurant, table cloth dim lights candles, Just the two of you with his favorite meal, and a bottle of wine. You dressed to the nine's bring up your best memories together in conversation over the meal. Make it like you where just dating again, coy but how should we say interested. From then on you are on your own. Believe me he will remember and appreciate it for years to come. Congratulations by the way, remember my 1st anniversay, that was 24 years ago.

How about planning to make dinner at home together... then rent movies for the evening. You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a memorable 1st anniversary. It is exactly what you make of it. Hubby and I didn't have a wedding ceremony but had a very nice 1 st anniversary.

Go buy him the book 101 nights of great sex and a teddy. It shouldn't cost much.
The gift that keeps on giving, and he'll remember that anniversary gift for years to come!

What does he like to do? My husband loves this one band. I found out it was coming to town around our anniversary. So I got him concert tickets. We went together. It was great. Find something that your hubby really likes and go from there.

make it a date night, watch a movie, catch a bit and then come home, light up scented candles, turn on some romantic music, take a bath together, long hours of foreplay and then make some sweet loving.
