If someone from Britain were to stand next to an American and neither were to speak, would you know who was who? I've often thought that there is a difference in the eyes, but interested to know other opinions.

Okay, think in terms of the eyes. Personally I think that the Americans have slightly more....erm, how can I describe this.....twinkly eyes.

I find all your answers very interesting. I'm an American. There are a lot of British people that visit my state. I seem to notice right away if they are British. I can't explain it but they just have a different way about them. I love to talk to them and find their accents very nice. I never thought of us having an accent and always wondered how we sound to them? Where I live most of us are very thin probably cause I live where the sun shine 365 days year. So, not all Americans are fat slobs. I like to watch BBC sometimes cause it is so different from American T.V.

I can usually tell but its not so much the facial features, sometimes clothes, i don't mean the stereotype check pants, and hair styles can be quite different. I sat next to a couple recently and immediately knew that they were Americans, and he was or had been in the military, just his bearing, odd, never thought of it before.

I suppose that WASP's everywhere display a kind of grim equality. But bear in mind that America is quite ethnically diverse; thus the handsome Latin type that I exemplify is becoming common in the US. I suggest that comparison between Andalusian and American faces would be more apt.

Everyone is treated equally. That is my opinion. I never treat no one different. I actually don't no the difference between a British and an American. I don't judge people by the way they look. This is my answer to your question.

i think theres a difference in the jaw. americans always seem to have really big mouths and chins for some reason. they also pull excessive facial expressions when they speak. really annoys me

I don't think you can tell. Although Americans tend to tan more & British tend less white teeth.

Depends if they are average people or celebrities. Americans stars seem more glamorous

it depends on what ethnic group they came from, if it was a native Amercian it might be a bit more obvious, but if they were both from the same group (black or caucasian etc) then there probably isn't much difference.
