Doing a job I love and only making a bit of money.
I'd rather be doing something I enjoy than having a lot of money but a miserable life.
Interesting question!!

Make a lot of money doing a job that I hate because then I can retire earlier and do what I actually love which is not working!

Yes...thats why I went into social work. My husband once had a job that he hated (and went to college for) but he made lots of money. He's spent his days off sleeping and seeing a psychologist for stress and also developed ulcers. He quit that horrible job and now works in a not for profit agency doing work that he loves. He doesn't dread work, doesn't have ulcers anymore and loves life again. We just downsized and instead of competing with others and living in a huge house, we bought a smaller (3 bedroom 2 bath home) that we can afford. We now spend our days off relaxing and have more time to travel and raise a family (very important to us).
I feel bad for people who work their life away for lots of money. You may be able to retire earlier (If you don't die from a stoke or heart attack first) but you'll spend the rest of your life in counseling. By the time you retire your kids will be grown and you will have watsted your life stressing and working long hours away from them. Why not do what you love and live withing your means? Then you can still retire early.

Well in my opinion, it would depend on were I lived. For instance, if I lived in say Beverlyhills i might have to make a lot of money, because that's an expensive place. Or if i was in debt I might have to take a job that i hate 4 the money. But if it wasn't in that case, i would just take the job that makes me happy. Otherwise i would be stressed out, and miserable.

I would rather work at a job I love and make little money. However, that's not practical these days.

the idealistic answer is no money love the job. the realistic answer is do the one that pays the bills. you do not want to work until you are 65 or for under thirty year olds its gonna be more like 67 or 70 before full medicare and social security will set in. work a job that lets you retire at 50 and dont depend on medicare and social security. if you can.

I can say for sure that my last job which sucked hardcore but paid really well was not worth the feeling of dread of another day at the hell hole. I quit and took a pay cut to work somewhere I enjoy and never looked back. As long as I have the money to eat and surf the net for porn I'm good. LOL

Well, I already hate my job so I would go with a lot of money unless the job was to sit around in my drawers every day and test the ganja that they had grown in Amsterdam while I was hooking up with all types of model types, if that is the job, I don't even need to get paid

I would rather make less money liking my job, than to make big money and hating my job. Work is where we spend most of our life. It makes more sense to me wanting to be happy and content there, no matter what the pay is.
