After purchasing postage from the postmistress to post the pickles, I'd be prone to predict that Peter Piper's Peppers procured the perfect paycheck.
NOT to be undone, Sally's seashells sales skyrocketed and soared simply successfully, so Sally's stipend may be substantial.

Sally made more. She sold her self on the beach along with the seashells. Pickled Peppers only go for so much these days and it's not as needed/wanted as much as a woman of loose moral standards. (AKA: Whore)
Peter just sits and plays with his peter while Sally sells her goods.

Sally, of course. Between the endless supply of seashells by the seashore and the other "things" she may have sold, she made more than Peter.

I think Sally liked the look of Peter's pepper and just ditched her seashell selling gig to to pick his peck for him. If anyone came out ahead...... well it would be Peter. :)
