I copyed the files onto this disk on my computer at home and now I'm trying to open them on this other computer but it just keeps saying "the system cannot read from the specified device". I checked to make sure I could open them from the disk when I was at home to make sure it worked and it did. What's the deal?

1. The disk might be damaged.
2. The heads in the floppy drive of the computer that formatted the disk may be slightly out of alignment.
3. The floopy drive you are attempting to use now may be out of alignment.
4. The floppy drive you are trying to use now may be dirty.

Is the PC that cant read them a VISTA system by chance?

Are both PCs running the same OS?

Try copying the files to a thumb drive to see if they can be detected that way. I have seen cases where VISTA will not recognize files on floppy and CD from older OS versions.
