does Maaco do good paintjobs?

Question

i have a 97 purple probe. its a little faded and want to paint it purple again. is there any other good paint specilist out there for cheap? Hows Maaco?

thye run from cheap to decent depending on what you want to pay. The lower end paint job lasts about a year and can peel after that, that's because they don't sand and prep it first. Their top paint jobs do pretty well. Make sure you dont wax your car for a month or so before taking it in to paint, and ask if they sand and prep first.

They are not good, If you think of how much they cost you to get a paint job, you should figure something isn't write about that. The cheap paint jobs peel very early in life. Maaco also usually doesn't cover things up well and you get over spray in a lot of places (exhaust pipes, etc.)

A good way to cut the cost down is to find a body shop in town that is know for being good but still on the cheaper side and see if there are things you can do in the preparations that will lower the price. Usually if you take off all your lights and all the stuff they would have to remove they cut the price down. If you are really adventurous, they can tell you some more extensive preps.

I had my car painted there one time. It orange peeled like crazy. They have several options of paint jobs. I think they charged me for the expensive one but gave me the cheap one. When I went back to get it fixed they told me it was out of warranty & that it was my fault it peeled.
It's worth it to invest a little more & go to a more professional and private place that stands behind their work.
