Would you white folks get offended? It's all in jest anyway. I refer to my anglo friends as mono-lingual or one language people all the time. I have no intent to hurt them. So far no one has taken any offense and most get a laugh out of it. I'm just poking a little fun at their inability to speak another language.

Not offended, it also takes quite a bit to offend me... Um, if I could actually (fluently) speak another language then I might get offended but then it would only be because I would no longer be "mono-lingual" hahaha! You’re funny :P

I'm a white man. Yeah that is offensive even though it is true most of the time here in the States. But still you don't want it pointed out like that especially by other people and most of all in the way they are joking about it. I would definately say something back if someone said that to me.

Haha - although I wouldn't say white people - I would say black and white Americans. White people from countries in Europe speak lots of languages. It's just us Americans who think everyone should talk like us (although I do agree they should if they live in America). I don't think it's offensive though - just true.

I take no offense to the term. I think its sad that most countries' citizens know 2 or more languages and for the most part, Americans dont.

I've made it a personal goal of mine to master Spanish, Italian, and perhaps French.

Being white and fluent in another language, yeah it is a bit offensive. Should all Cubans be called 'cigar-rollers?'

I wouldn't be offended, by freinds of others races make white girl jokes about me all the time.

I think the ability to joke about things like that. Take away it's power to do harm.

NO i dont get offended because the truth of the matter just basically boils down to simple psychology.

This is social comparison, bringing others down around you, to make themselves feel equal or better than.
Children often do this when dealing in social circles.

Simple math

How is white racist? I am white. I have never heard someone try to say something so stupid. While whites do have a bad name, thanks to the white supremacists and the KKK, it is stupid to think being called white is racist. It refers to the color of your skin tone. You are white and we can call you white, because it is NOT a racist term. Never call me caucasian, call me white!
