I'm asexual and sex with either men or women isn't my thing. I don't want a boyfriend (or girlfriend) and I don't mind being a single mom. I have everything worked out financially, and I feel that it is my mission in life to be a mother. While I'm okay financially, I cannot afford In Vitro or a sperm bank. Any suggestions?

Adoption is too expensive. If I had that kind of money, I'd do In Vitro from a sperm bank.

Asexual doesn't mean that I have a 'thing'. It means that I am not attracted to males or females. I am a complete female with all of the normal functioning organs. :) Think of it as the opposite of 'Bi-sexual'.

Im thinking doing it the cheap way- take one for the team!
You dont have to enjoy sex to get pregnant. Just lie there. :) You prob wont enjoy it althought you might have to pretend to to get someone to do it more than once, but if you really want to get pregnant, you're going to have to have sex with a man. Unfortunately...its your only option.
Luckily theres a lot of people out there who only want casual relationships and if you are determined to do it on your own, you really only need your name on the birth certificate. Sorry hon... you're gonna have to grin and bear it.
I think the fact that you have no attraction to either is incredibly interesting. Kudos for owning up to it. A lot of people fake their way through relationships just to fit into some societal norm and end up living unhappy lives.

Pick up a stranger at a bar around the time of ovulation. If you don't want to have sex with him, have him jerk off into a cup and then use a turkey baster on yourself. In all honesty, that's the only way you'll get "free" sperm if you're not willing to go to a sperm bank and have an IVF...or adopt.

Have you considered embryo adoption? Take a look at the website, and ask your ob/gyn about costs.
If it's too much, domestic foster-to-adopt programs are not at all expensive- but of course you do miss out on the experience of being pregnant. Otherwise, the only real alternative is to work out an arrangement with a male friend.

Well, do you have a good male friend that you could get to help you? If you trust someone, and they would help you, that might be an option. You may even get them to do it without having sex if you do AI/IUI at a dr's office. That might be cheaper than paying for a donor's sample. Since you are healthy, and the man is presumably healthy, you probably won't need fertility meds. My only concern with going out and seeking "casual" sex is STD's, which you definitely DO NOT want if you are planning on becoming pregnant. Good luck!

A sperm bank is not that expensive... Look into it. Also, you can find your own donor. If that does'nt work out for ya you can adopt or become a foster parent.

I heard about a couple who couldn't have kids, and so they decided that the wife's sister would be a surrogate mother for them. They had the husband masturbate into something, put it in a turkey baster, and then squirted it in. It sounds weird and crazy but the lady got pregnant. Maybe you could do something like that.

Do you have a male friend who would impregnate you? Maybe you can have a document drawn up stating that you are looking for no financial or emotional support and you can have him sign away his rights immediately. If you have someone who will do that, then that could be your solution.
