I have used this hotel, Grand Hotel du Loiret:

With the metro you can use any part of the town and will still be at the airport in reasonable time.
And it is in a nice, calm part of town, only a few minute walk north of the Norte Dame.

I stayed at the below hotel last Christmas. It is very near the Eiffel tower. I don't know about cheap. This was 110 euros per night during the off-season. It worked out fine for me. I'm sure you can Metro your way from any airport or train station just about anywhere in the city.

RER "B" from Charles de Gaulle comes through Gare du Nord, where Eurostar arrives. I believe the same RER line goes to Orly.

Try hotel Tinquetonne in rue Tinquetonne. It's near Les Halles & therefore dead central. It was recommended by Which? magazine.

Up to my knowledge, the Eurostar train stops in Gare du Nord. From there you can catch either a Metro or RER lines to get to anywhere in Paris.

Tip: Buy the 10 ticket option for transportation (from the station itself), as it will be cheaper...

As for a hotel, follow the link http://www.booking.com/index.html?aid=311980 and do a search for Paris for your particular dates. You can sort by cheaper room..

The Eurostar comes into Gare du Nord.
Gare du Nord has both Metro and RER lines and it is easy to get to anywhere in Paris from there.

i like inn L'Aiglon - this is on boul. Raspail and on a large bus direction (10 minutes or much less - the bus end is on the front door) to the centre of Paris. sparkling and delicate. I enjoyed it and that's a secure neighbourhood.
