They are both in the labryinth breating family, I just forget the scientific name, other then I know is starts with an A. I think it wouldn't work because the Blue G's like I was explaining yesterday get kind of aggressive at times, and might target that Betta. I'd say no just to be safe. Usually Betta's can go with just about anything but other Betta's but the relative aggressive levels of the Blue's would probably be too much and stress the Betta. Tank size would come into play on that though. Something towards a 40 or 55 should be ok, but I think you'll run into spacial issues if you started going into a 30 gallon or lower and the Betta would probably get targeted.
You could of course give it a shot, and if you see too much aggression taking place, you could isolate the Betta into a bowl temporarily while you got him his own 3 gallon set up though, if you really want to add a male Betta that bad.

FOLLOW UP FOR G:
You're right about the pearls and most other G. However the blues and the dwarves will occaisionally exhibit some aggressiveness in tanks, generally in smaller set ups, and most of the time only towards other Gourami too. They are the more aggressive of the Gourami's IMO but something like a pearl is quite peaceful so you'd need to keep an eye on the Blues with a Betta in this particular case.

No, Gouramis and Bettas are very closely related. The Betta will try to attack the Gourami because of its long, flashy fins. The Gourami is much stronger though, and will kill the Betta eventually. The two male Gouramis will also fight each other, but in a 50+ gallon tank, it isn't much to worry about.

It depends on your gouramis. I'd be a little concerned at them nipping at the betta's fins.
