Multiply both sides by 2:
-14x + 6 = -15
Subtract both sides by 6:
-14x = -21
Divide both sides by -14:
x = 21/14
Divide numerator and denominator by 7:
x = 3/2
Check answer:
-7(3/2) + 3 = -15/2
-21/2 + 3 = -15/2
-21/2 + 6/2 = -15/2
-15/2 = -15/2
So the answer checks.
