Yes, you will be liable to the landlord. What your roommates do isn't the landlord's problem. However, after moving out, you can sue the roommates directly for any money that you lost. Make sure you have proper proof of the threats.

The first thing you need to do is fill out a police report. I would follow this with a letter to the landlord explaining the situation (keep a copy). Document all threats and any actions taken against you. Talk to your local legal aid since your liability has a lot to do with how the lease is written and who's names are on it. You do not legally have to live in a place where you are in danger but since they are your roommates and you chose to live with them it's a tricky situation. It's possible if all the names are on the lease that you can leave and they will be forced to pay your share to remain there. The only thing they could do would be to sue you and as long as you have documentation that they made you afraid for your safety they don't have a chance of winning that.

File a police report. That puts the threats on official file. It also puts the roommates on official notice that they will be immediate suspects if anything happens to you. File backup reports with the police, if necessary. If repeat reports are necessary, send an official letter by a summons server announcing that you will be moving out as of one month from then (to allow them time to get a replacement) because they have set up the situation of "creative eviction". Send a normal copy to the landlord with a request to remove your name from the lease.
