If you truly have laminate flooring and not wood you shouldn't use wax on it ever! And you can't strip it because you'll remove the wood grain look off the top. I use a windex/ammonia based cleaner on my laminate flooring and it gets it quite clean. If you want it to look shiny you can use dusting spray like pledge and a dust mop.

Use orange glo products. They have a laminate floor cleaner and a "Revita-Shine" that is formulated for laminate floors. Also use a "Quickie" mop, or a mop that is made from a washable terry cloth material to avoid streaking. Here is the link for the orangeglo website. Make sure you get the orange bottles for laminate floors, and not the bottles for hardwood floors. http://www.greatcleaners.com/multifloorclean.html

i think that i would just go with stripping it like your husband says. maybe not yet as you said you don't want to, but that would be best it looks. i suggest just washing it regularly like you do now and just live with the "non clean looking" floor for now. it won't be that long before it gets cooler =]

If your floors are wood laminated, you are to use vinegar and water only to clean. Chemicals just cause build up that dulls the finish.
