If you're going to be a freshman and are starting high school, you should wear clothes that fit you and that you are COMFORTABLE in, which is very important. If it's the first day, dress appropriately (i.e. being sexy, slutty, ect...is a no no). If you're too dressed up on the first day of school, you'll be seen as 'trying to hard' or 'trying to fit it.' Wear something that looks cute to YOU because you don't need to impress anyone. Beauty is subjective. Some people might think what you're wearing is not 'in,' while others think the outfit is cute. But believe me, people won't be paying as much attention to you as you thought, especially the upperclassmen. Other freshmen are too worried about themselves and they are as nervous as you are. Therefore, they don't really pay attention to you.

Tips for the first day of high school: Dress casually with a 'cute' look to it that FITS you, be friendly to people, and carry yourself with confidence, then you're good to go.

Soon to be junior in high school.

I know this isn't a question, but I just want to put my thoughts out there. Plus, I've seen WAY TOO MANY of these questions so I want to answer them on this one post.

oh my geeze yes!
last year ( i was a freshman) and everyone else but ME was so anxious about what to wear.

the truth is yeah, you get strange looks when you dress up..

i think i wore a t-shirt, jeans, a jacket and of course my worn out converse :D

and everyone knows the first week/ week and a half are just rules, instructions and getting to know the school/teachers..

it's a waste to try and impress people..if you dress how you want, people will see you for who you REALLY ARE. which is of course what is the best..

and upperclassmen really DON'T like freshman, sure they hang out if they are athleticly fit n such, but freshman are seen as immature and wimpy :D

dress how you want and show yourself, not the person you are TRYING TO BE.

Another tip - when you're older and you look back in highschool you're not going to care what you had on your first day, who you're nice to or who your friends with - but you will care about how well you did and tried in school, especially if you go to college. trust me i'm 20 and i don't care what i weared back in highschool..i mean that was almost 3 years ago!

you do tend to figure out who your friends are in highschool, and even more so when you graduate. you'll notice a lot of your "friends" won't call you or hang out with you after highschool...
