most women i know say they prefer a guy whose abs are toned, or at least flat.
is this similar to men's expectations for women?

Most guys I've spoken to have said no. The smart/mature ones are able to figure out that it's a hard standard for women. Also, most women I see walking around don't have flat stomachs, let alone hard abs, so I guess most guys don't have girls like that. My stomach is not very fat, and I am very fit, but it is a little podgy - my boyfriend doesn't mind. In fact, his is a bit podgy too and I find it quite attractive too - toned guys look nice, but hard stomachs aren't as comfortable to lie on, and I would be intimidated by a guy who was too toned. I read that in an interview with Eva Mendes too - she said a little bit of pudge was cute. And another thing...what you like looking at in pictures is different to what you'll accept in a relationship.

I highly doubt many dudes are looking for a woman with a six pack of muscle. It's nice when it is thin and toned, but we don't expect bulging muscle. A nice booty is much more important and breasts and face and hair, we don't spend a lot of time thinking about abs.

Well women normally have a higher percentage of bodyfat so it's even harder for you ladies to achieve the holy grail of fitness. It's not a deal breaker, but I do think it's nice to see a bit of tone in a lady's midsection. Just my preference though.

i think you alread know the answer to that , they want big tops its the same thing as us wanting abs so i see no wrong in having a high standard but this we should all hold are selfs to a higher standard .

i love looking at girls with beautiful toned stomachs, but it is not a requirement. i've like some girls who didn't fit this description.
