I think that inner beauty is something that's discovered as time passes... age and maturity have a lot to do with a persons depth. The more mature you are, or become, the more value you place on people based on personality, morals, stability, and core values...
When you're young and immature, you believe you'll be beautiful forever... and you believe that others beauty is to be taken at face value. Experience teaches us that the most beautiful people we meet may turn out to be the ugliest once we get to know their inner person.
The saying goes "beauty is only skin deep but ugly is through and through..", and it's true!

Physical beauty never really fades away, attractive younger people are attractive when they are older also. Not liking it does not make it untrue, and it's sure a lot easier to go through all the tough things that life thows at couples if you are totally attracted to the way your partner or spouse looks.
Besides, when you were criticizing that "shallow" guy you yourself said "he was totally ugly anyway" so it matters to you!

Well people change and you never know who you are really going to fall for. Some times they might suprise lyou.
But, some people are just shallow.
They may never find true love, but why would they care if it is just looks they want.
Thank god most people look at the true person.

obviously, people beautiful from inside can get over the looks most of the time... whereas those ugly from inside chase outside beauty which can be deciptive... and they pay for thier shallowness either way... because true beauty they can't keep up with, fake beauty will haunt them... so, they lose!
i watch "next" sometimes... and i feel sorry for those trying to be all cool and everything, but htey're so shallow and so unoriginal...!
thanx... love you all

I think you are correct that anyone who bases a possible relationship on looks is not heading down a good path. I mean, come one, haven't we all known real b i t c h e s who were beautiful?

No, they never. They are always looking for an outer beauty and when their love changes with time (getting old) they dumped them for another beauty!
They always searching for perfection!

Of course not. They shouldn't base anything like that on appearance, because, like you say, everyone just gets old and their appearance diminishes anyway, so what's the point?

I don't think so. Love at first sight doesn't exist. You can't know enough about a person buy just looking ta them to know whether or not you love them.

I could care less about looks.
Even though I'm rather good looking myself.
I would still date a girl who is less than average in looks. =)
