You'd have to be anti-police to not agree with the officer, he was completely justified in trying to save the mans wife by stopping her husband with what he thought was a gun.

If you want a cause, go after the people that made the pellet gun or, the people that sold it.

My Grandson, 15 years old, bought a pellet gun from Wal-Mart, when I saw it, being completely familiar with hand gins, carrying one myself and having one at home, it looked like a silver plated 9mm.
As soon as I took it I knew it wasn't real but, for all intents and purposes, it was real. His mother, my daughter keeps a tight rein on it.

These manufacturers were suppose to disguise the guns they sold so they couldn't possibly be mistaken, what happen after a few years, we're right back at it. So, don't blame the policeman, he's doing his job and, a good one. He has the right to go home to his family at night, his kids have a right to a father and his wife a husband.
Go after the people that sold the gun, start legislation to create new laws about these "fakes" speak out for the middle man, not against the cops.

I think it's really easy to Monday morning quarter back any situation. The next time you have someone pointing what looks like a gun at you, will you stop and ask the person if that's a real gun or will you assume he means to kill you? The public is always second guessing police work. I think they do the best job they've been trained to do and heaven help us all if we didnt have the police to guard us.

What's not right?

The police did the right thing and shot a man who was pointing what they believed to be a "gun" at them.

The man died, as he wanted to.

I've taught my children all their lives - don't point ANYTHING at police!

Tough choice, but I think if I was faced with that decision I would shoot. It is too bad that this man was waving a pellet gun around and threatening people. Sorry for everyone involved.

I don't understand what you object to.

The guy committed suicide by cop. I feel bad for the police officer who was compelled to shoot him. It's not fair that he/she should have to live with the death of this guy because the guy was mentally disturbed.

If I was a cop and that was pointed at me I'd shoot, ask questions later.

The officers had to protect themselves. Suicide by cop is not uncommon.
