The best thing for you to do is to learn Basic Strategy for Blackjack. It is pretty simple to learn with there being many websites out there with a chart showing you the correct decisions. Play at home for a couple of weeks before you go and you should have a good handle on the proper plays. You can even buy a little strategy card in the casino gift shop that you can use at the table.
Just doing this simple homework will instantly make you wiser than 99% of the people in you average Vegas casino and will bring the house edge to under 1%.
One more important rule, make sure you stay away from any place that has "6-5" BJ instead of the standard "3-2." This when you get $6 for every $5 you bet when you get a natural 21. Normally you should get $7.50 per $5 in a standard game of BJ. This little rule change adds almost 3% to the house edge.
Here is a great site with all the ins and out of just about every game in the casino...

BLACKJACK!
Learn basic strategy, and sit a table where the minimum bet is $5 per hand. Once you get the hang of it, you can play at the table for hours with $100.
The other good thing about black jack is you are not playing against other players. All players at the table are playing against the dealer, therefore other players at the table will HELP you. Just tell them you are new to it, and they will walk you through it. They are guaranteed to help you because when you know what you are doing, then everyone at the table has a better chance of winning.
Even the dealers will help you to a certain extent.
Stay away from slots!! You can play them here and there, but they will take your money FAST! On the slots, you can lose $100 in 10 minutes. In blackjack, a $100 can last for hours. Yes, you can win alot more in a short period of time at the slots, but the chances of that happening are slim to none.

Let me start out by saying that all casinos will be happy to teach you how to play any of their games at no cost to you. There are usually set hours in the morning when they give the lessons; all you need to do is ask them when. None of them are exceedingly complicated, and it is actually fun to talk with the dealers and other people.
If you don't want to take the time with a gaming lesson, blackjack is your best bet, and perfect for a person like you with a short attention span. You can play a few seconds or an hour, and basic strategy will maximize your time and give you the best chance of winning something (no need to share w/me, btw). Most of what you need to know and more can be found here, including images of cards you can print for easy basic strategy.

Oh, and one more word...if you really want the best chance of winning money, don't make any of those "side bets" at the tables like Royal Match or spinning a wheel.
And the last tip...if you manage to increase your initial bankroll by 25%, quit immediately.

Just stick to the slot machines, play quarters, try to find a machine that takes two coins to win max jackpot compared to three and have good payoff, like 2nd coin wins 5000 instead of 3 coins win 1000. Be aware that that is 1000 or 5000 coins, not dollars. Playing quarters t least gives you something when you win compared to nickles where you might have to play 5 or more to win 5000 coins. Just remember, gambling is entertainment, you always pay for entertainment, gamble, go to the movies, go to a theme park, it doesnt matter, you have to pay, look at it that way and dont expect to get rich. Take a certian amount of money to gamble and dont take your checkbook, ATM card or credit card with you its to easy to go overboard and end up a big loser.
I've been to Vegas a few times, Reno more and many other places to gamble and to be honest with you, for what you can lose in an hour I can spend a coulpe of days at Disneyland.
Slots are the easyest to play, if you want to get into table games I would recommend finding a book on how to play, since your going to Vegas look for books that cover Vegas rules, different areas play by different rules. Also, most casinos will offer classes on how to play different games, they want you to gamble while you are there, and take it easy on the "free" drinks.

Play craps. There is more fun in craps than any game in town. Be the pass line and if you don't win on the come out. Take the odds behind the line. Watch the others you'll get it. Don't bet anything else except the come line. Back that up too. Its easy you'll understand. I you go to Ceasars or MGM and the 12 pays triple in the field toss out a few field bets if you wish to bet more. Place your money on the pass line in front of you to bet, otherwise toss it out and say loudly what the bet is. They'll take care of it. If they pay you odds and you end up with one dollar chips toss a couple on the hard ways. The odds suck but its a fun bet. I like to bet some on the six/six at 30 to one odds. Its good form to toss a bet out on the hard ways or something and say this is for he crew. Or toss out two chips and say two ways. One is yours and one is the table crew's. Its a tip if you win.
If you play craps you may get hooked so be careful, bet only what you can lose. If u get up big and the table gets cold walk away. Find another table. Go eat. Return later.

Blackjack is good- just get a book and memorize the basic strategy tables it provides. Craps can be fun but you can run through alot of money fast, even on a $5 min bet table. And then there are slot machines. The trick to playing slots is to sit down and dunk one coin in right when the cocktail waitress comes by, order up a free drink (drinks are free at the casinos on the strip), dunk another single coin in, pull, repeat until the drink gets there. It shouldn't cost more than a buck if you do it right. Then tip the waitress for the drink and move on. If you order expensive drinks (anejo tequila, name brand liquor and mixers), you will come out ahead, even if you don't win a penny from the slots.

based from my experiences the easiest games to win money is sport betting especially college games..college football and basketball. If u dont know enough about sports, stick with almost 50% chance to win such as roulette (black & white, high & low numbers), paigow poker, etc.... Strategy to win is in the betting increments. If u lose a hand, increase the next bet, if u lose again, increase an additional increments, when u win a hand, go back to beginning or based bet of origin.
example u bet $10 u lose, u bet $15, u win back to betting $10

Walk up to any table and watch for a bit. If it's not too busy, you can always ask the dealer to explain the game to you. Depending on the other players, some may be more than happy to explain too.
Easy games:
Slots is the #1. Put your money in, hit a button/pull the handle.
Blackjack for table games.
Roulette. place a bet on your favorite number.
You can try your hand on Yahoo games. They have blackjack and you can get some practice in.
Have fun in LV.
