Dude, it's a pencil... Don't you think your taking things way too fair on this? I mean c'mon, ya stick the pencil in the pencil sharpener. When I'm home alone 'n my pencil brakes as written down a poem, I don't have time to wait for a male to come 'n do that. I can't pick up the pencil, walk over to the pencil sharpener, stick the pencil in the pencil sharpener, wait 'til the pencil is sharpened, then take the pencil out of the pencil sharpener 'n get back to my work.
It's ain't rocket science!

no it's not a weapon it's a pencil!!!
though like tania i only use mechanical pencils because i think its a waste of time to take the pencils put it in the little hold twist it around over a garbage take it out and blow off the little wood bits, it would be much worse if i had to wait for a man to be there to sharpen the pencil.
but lets say this is an all girls school (since you seem to think girls and boys should be taught differently) and the teacher is a female (and dont' say that he shoudl be a man because i dont think you'd agree if i said a father was teaching his daughter even though that would be okay in some situations) anyway they're taking a test and the scantron can only be read if you use a number 2 pencil NOT PASTEL INK then how are they supposed to take the test?

Have you mentioned this to the elementary schools and pencil manufacturers?
I mean, we're abusing little girls every day, in as early as first and second grade, it appears.
Perhaps you could recommend that we institute a position in all the schools for some man to go from classroom to classroom sharpening all the little girl's pencils.....
OMG, is that the job you wanted? No wonder people think you are pedophelic
Yeah, and I can just see doing my taxes in pink, purple, and violet ink. Uncle Sam would Love that.

No, I use a pencil all the time and very capable to getting a sharpener to fix it when it's blunt. It's not that hard to sharpen a pencil.

I think this is an interesting way to put 'pencil sharpening'. I've never thought of it as woodworking! I can't say that I agree, but I'm definitely going to think about how you've put it.

Ahh, yes. I remember my shop class in middle school. All students were required to take it, as they were Home Ec. I believe I got one of the highest grades in the class, not because I was a girl, but because I was a perfectionist. We were all instructed to design and build a shelf based on the basic instructions we were given. Before the teacher would grade our final product, we were told to grade ourselves. I gave myself a C- if I remember right. I saw too many flaws. Too much space there, misaligned here, uneven stain there, etc. But according to the teacher, I got an A. With our shelves lined up next to each other, and being able to see everyone's product, it was proof that the teacher was fair.
My woodworking skills, and skills with power tools continued into high school, college and beyond. I've always been drawn to the theater, not on stage, but behind the scenes. I helped with the lighting and building the sets. I frequently used power tools and was good with them. My father taught me well from a young age. To this day I use my skills, refinishing furniture, assisting a friend building her house, to volunteer work.
Yes, I must let a man sharpen my pencil, because it is too much work, and too manly to walk over to the office pencil sharpener, push the pencil into the little hole, wait a few seconds, and pull out the sharpened pencil.
As for pens, I use two colors only: red and black. I use red in a work capacity only as it stands out against the black and white of the paper I'm reviewing. For everything else, I use classic black because it's, well, classic.

Oh, sure, go ahead. I don't want to get splinters. Truth is that I use mechanical pencils, which don't require sharpening. You just have to click the end of it to 'sharpen' it. I don't need a man to click the end of the mechanical pencil every time it gets dull. It's not that hard, and there's no splinters from wood.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/pUEPI
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.
