I make a mean macaroni and cheese. I tend to keep it simple and not put anything extra in it, generally. I did however, make it one time substituting Manchego Cheese( from Spain) for cheddar and I fried up some chorizo and put that in. It got rave reviews. I have put in cubed ham as well. Those are the only 2 times I have added extra ingredients to the basic mac and cheese. I think bacon and/or mushrooms might be tasty as well.

You put Sour Cream and make a little flour paste add to the cooked macaroni and cheese and stir it all up then cover it with cheese put in the oven in a glass baking dish until the top cheese melts with a slight brown on top and it is delicious.

Yes. For more substance, I stir in extra cheese. For creamy and oh-so-deelish, it's some cream cheese as well. This is a special treat, of course, because eating so rich a diet often is an express train to Tubbytown.

I LOVE having tuna in my mac and cheese. But my boys don't like it, so I haven't had it that way in a long time. I do put parmesan cheese on top, though.
