I am terrible at keeping conversations. Not just with adults but even with my own friends. People get the mistake that I am quite when truly I lack social skills. Any suggestions on starting and continuing long conversations?

you don't need to have a long conversation to enjoy time with other people. Sometimes, it's better to be quiet then to continue yapping.

The best things to talk about... Point out something nearby, like a tree or a bus and make a comment. The other person will say something, and you go from there. Let it flow freely and talk about whatever comes up next. Generally, if you're FORCING a conversation, you shouldn't have it. Relax, be shoosh, and wait until something comes up.

Hey John! I've been there buddy and really it comes down to simply getting comfrontable with you. See when you've spent enough time talking, relating, and understand yourself, conversation well begain to just flow from you. See whats going on is that your keep most of those opionins, ideas, and conversation in that head of yours. Now as you do the 3 things I talked about before talk with yourself, relate to yourself, and some understanding of yourself. You'll get more and more comfrontable letting that stuff out and sharing it. There doesn't need to be any start, nor any technique to keeping the conversation going its all about INTEREST. As long as you can keep you and them interested in the convo, everything well run smoothly....
