Ya think lol? But the top two Republican candidates keep claiming it was just undignified. No one will EVER see through that excuse, right. Couldn't be that they don't want to take questions from Americans when Americans aren't too happy with them right now could it? Might actually have to admit Dubya has screwed things up royally and step over that party line they keep trying to walk without falling down. It's even funnier how they keep referencing the FOX debate and Democrats, as if these two situations are even remotely alike.

The Utube debate was a bit of a clusterf%$@. George W set the tone for Republican interaction with th e public when he made his Town Hall meetings only open to followers and loyal Bushies. If Guiliani, Romney or Thompson had to answer questions about strong-arm police tactics in NY, flip-flopping on abortion or bing an ex-lobbyist who did nothing in Congress (respectively), the would cave under the pressure. The biggest reason they don't want it is they will have to answer the question: how are you different than George W. Bush? The answer: not at all.

Well, the fact is that the Republicans prefer to live in a bubble of blissful ignorance and not face the facts, reality or anything pragmatic. That's the foundation of the Republican Party...keep people misinformed and make the top 2% happy to get election donations. I think, they should change their party name to 2% Party.
IF they face YouTube questions, they'd have to face the reality i.e death, destruction and chaos they've caused in Iraq and the record deficit for future generations to pay for a very, very long time while stealing their social security benefits. This is NOT the way to "Serve", that's the way to "ROB" American people.
Republican jig of Bigotry, Corruption, Deception, Hypocrisy , Lies and Racism is up and "FINALLY" Americans are recognizing them for the scum bags that they are and will continue to kick them to the curb election after election after election!

the democratic "debate" was not, nor were the questions taken from "live" people. the candidates had access to the questions ahead of time, and had ample opportunity to prepare remarks. and the handlers knew what order the questions would be presented. the moderators even had a list of who would answer what question in what order.
this "debate" was STAGED.
the only true debate occurs in real time with first-person participation. just because it was done on Youtube means nothing. that just shows that democrats are trying to be hip and cool by using whatever media is fashionable at the time. to their credit, it gives them a leg up on getting the attention of the 30-second-attention-span americans. sadly most americans are conditioned to respond in knee jerk fashion to whatever is shown them on that magic box called a tv. and that applies to both liberal and conservative voters, sadly.
i personally prefer a voter who can THINK and give me a solid reason for their position. i respect that. i dont respect anyone who blindly follows the party, regardless of ideology.
Thanks for the question.

There was nothing live or unscripted about that debate. Thousands of questions were sent in, and the CNN types picked a few to ask - and, it was clear that the campaign managers had either gotten ahold of the list, or made some good guesses about the kinds of questions CNN would choose, because there were some well-rehearsed questions.

Yes they are all bunch of wussies. And you'll get bunch of them saying why Dems don't debate on Fox. The last time I checked Fox didn't compare for anything to voting individuals. The thought that Fox Noise represents individual voters asking questions, is an illustration of how stupid you are.
Maybe if Fox Noise wasn't funding a group of lying idiots to swift boat John Kerry, then they would be able to do all the News Network stuff like hosting a real debate. But looks like they blew it trying to be unfair and unbalanced.
As for the Snow Man, how many questions did you see with the Snow Man ................................ One. Just one. How PATHETIC can repulican excuses get?
Does anyone remember the evolution question? or the Bill Clinton back in White House question?

As for the clown who said 'debate on Fox'. Fox would edit the face punches. This is why you would never see Rush, Hannity and the rest of the Rove puppets go in public debate forum.
I saw Ann the Man Coulter debate a Bay Area radio guy on CNN (Bernie Ward). Two punches in and Ann's Adam's apple was shaking with fear. I thought she was going to cry.

There are two Republican candidates who look like they
are dodging this debate: Rudy Giulliani and Mitt Romney.
I think it is extremely stupid and yes, it looks cowardly, to avoid such a debate... but it does not mean all Republicans are afraid to participate like your question implies. Those are the only candidates have shown reservations to this debate.

Come on, did you see those YouTube videos? I would be embarassed to answer those. A talking snowman, or singing fools. Come on. And as for live people, they recieved thousands of these videos and only picked a handful, and they picked the same questions they would normally ask. But instead of some guy in a suit asking about global warming, they have a snowman ask.
And to that snowman, concerned about his child, I have one thing to say. Move to Antarctica, because almost everywhere else in the world, there is this thing called summer, and you will melt.
