If you have to test a man's sensitivity to your feelings, then something is terribly wrong. No two people have a constant, clear cut line of communication between each other. But, you should be able to speak to your man and have a reasonable conversation with him in order to discuss the feelings you both have. A test is foolish. A test always states that you don't have the type of relationship where the two of you can talk. This test you describe is on the same level as passing him a note that asks "Do you like me? Check Yes or No." Talk to each other. You may have more to talk about than you think.

If you know you have a belief that is differnt then his and you feel strongly about it state it once and see how he reacts. If he gets all mad and offended then he really does not care about your feelings. He he acts respectful of your feelings and tries to talk with you about it in a respectful way then you know he is sensitive to your feelings. If he changes the subject and is avoidant then you might have a problem. I know this is a very direct way but it seems to work. One of my psy teachers came up with it.

What you should be working on is your sensitivity to his feelings. A woman is usually more obvious than a man, and you often don't find out your oversight about his feelings until years later!

I would have to agree with Dana for the most part....I can always tell when my boyfriend is really paying attention to my feelings....His facial expressions, his reactions, he always checks to see if I'm ok.......esp after a long day at work, and if I have had a rough day at work....there is so much he does that makes me feel loved.......If he hurts my feelings, not meaning to,of course, it really upsets him too! He will do everything in his power to try and fix it........thats why I Love him so much!!!!

Pay attention to the way he responds or reacts whenever you discuss personal things. This is a tricky one...with time, you will be able to tell...If he answers "ok, oh, or I see," often, thats a clue that he doesn't really care about much that pertains to y ou.

You shouldn't "test" anyone... it's about open communication.
