Yes. My nephew is deaf and I learned years ago. I'm very fluent. Went to school for it. I sometimes volunteer to play games and bring snacks for the kids when I bring my nephew to school. He's 8.

Yes, I know sign language. I took a few classes in college. My sister did too. Now, we can talk to each other when we are on opposite sides of a room, or when we need to be quiet. I helped a girl that was visiting by...translating...if you can call it that....I felt like I was a beginner compared to her. I absolutely LOVED taking those classes, one of my teachers was deaf. Sign Language is the best language!!! It is soo incredible!!!

I do know some. My ex had a deaf friend, and when my kids were little we had a series of Sesame Street books that had sign language in them. We all know a little bit. ☺

I took a 3 year course in sign language in south africa. I know every country's sign language differ from each other. I am also a special needs teacher and teach children who are autistic. We use 'Makaton', the keywords from sign language are used here and not a whole sentence. This is to make communication easier for these children.

Yes, I know some. I'm deaf but I'm capable of speech. I have a severe hearing loss in my right ear and a profound hearing loss in my left. Hearing aids help but I rely a great deal on lip reading. My parents did not want me to be restricted to communicating by ASL so I learned how to speak through years of speech therapy. I know the alphabet and about 100 signs. EMT

My former minister's daughter had progressive hearing loss and she needed a sign language interpreter; it was neat watching the person sign for Bethany, during our church services.
I know some basic signs, because I use to teach some lessons to my Pre-K class. I know the ABC's, no, yes, hello, good-bye, baby, walk, and some others.
