I think that it's having a higher level of intellect and social awareness that inevitably leads such people into seclusion, since the masses only appreciate intelligence in small doses and don't have a problem in believing what they're told without questioning authority. Creative people are usually thinkers and seek knowledge through research and the pursuit of self education, whether it be institutional or initiated by their personal inbred curiosity and relentlessly pursued. Since they tend to think outside of the 'box', they are generally loners if they don't instinctively and inherently feel alone due to the fact that the majority of people tend to be non thinkers like sheep following the flock giving in to trends, peer pressure and 'the united way' (and I'm not talking about the philanthropic humane organization).

It's because they had their own way of thinking, because they were the children whom in the past were beaten, isolated and alone. They started wandering why and then one thing led to another and then they suddenly became interested in the truth about how the world works, what people think, what does the human heart desires.
By the time they were old enough to understand, they realized that their "friends" are distracting, in the sense that they were like a nature barrier between them and the truth. In short, they lost their concentration. Soon they realized that it is only when one makes sacrifices does one begin to grasp the true fabric of knowledge, and overcame their human desires and used their talent. It is at this point that they became known as geniuses.
You might wander how they could just give up their friends and that. The answer is simple, they were never understood. Instead they sought people who had their own visions and beliefs. They analyzed everything around them, and through experience, they understood what life and philosophy was about and their goals became clear.
They chose a life of loneliness because they never found the need for friendship or socialization.

I think that a lot of talented people overthink things. They break everything in their life down to better understand it. That doesn't work well with people. People do not like to be over analyzed.
Plus, as poets and philosophers they dwell on things for a long time in order to turn their life experiences into poetry or a new philosophical idea. This sort of dwelling does not work well in an intimate relationship because people mess up all the time.

Seeking after a higher consciousness requires reflection and self will to pervade one's space. If others ever get a control of the amount or time frame of when the expression of creativity is acceptable, it defeats the purpose of creation. Creation is spontaneous and defies what others fence in as proper.
Philosophy requires a lot of thought and the highest consciousness. That would mean that everyone else is going to get in the way. No only people, but tasks of daily life which include marriage, child rearing, and housekeeping are going to impede any semblance of a life of engagement in thought and setting aside sexual urges is completely compatible. Scientist or mathematicians fit this category.
Poets have throughout history had lovers (prime example, Byron) and sought muses for their inspired writings (or music for musicians). That is because these types of creations requires unearthing of the desires and sexual engagements may lead to melancholy that may inspire.

Hi Steven25 T,
Philosophers and Poets, and some other people, choose that way of living, because they want to have there peace and solitude..to create their Master pieces, and views, on things/perspectives..in there own serenity..
>>>>
In Solitude.... That's where they go to get the best ideas.... Of course, that's all thanks to Society......
>>>>>>
Most of them, are a little bit disappointed, by Society, and let them live in peace and harmony, with the beauty of nature, to become "whole", with themselves....and there thoughts...
>>>>>
This doesn't mean they are lonely....
I am sure they have pondered enough, before choosing that lifestyle...
>>>>>>
They appreciate other values, more, then people who are living there life surrounding by people... (different lifestyles)
They are happy in there own way..like anyone else....
>>>>>>
Thanks, for the question! :-)
My regards!
Take care!

Talented people can stand on their own.
Untalented and indignant people need to be surrounded by people so they can exist. Without people they could never figure anything out. I feel you have a misconception, just because talented people don't surround ourselves with a bunch of idiots to feel superior, doesn't mean we're not married, have kids and live a fruitful life.
It just means we don't want a bunch of ignorant people bringing us and our families down all the time. Life is hard enough without morons making things harder.

Because being around other people can be an effort for some people - pretending to care about what they are talking about, making sure their feelings don't get hurt, remembering their birthdays, stuff like that.
When one is very cerebral, it's a lot easier to just shut out all of these distractions and focus on what you feel is more important.

difficult to tolerate the ignorance of the world. They have a deeper mind than most and are not interested in external mundane things. They are very internal and big thinkers. To be able to have deep conversations is the only reason for them to interact with others. The problem is it is hard to find others as deep as themselves to discuss their philosophy and poetry with. For the greatest book of Philosophy read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prahupada- read by all great thinkers. asitis.com you can read on line.

Because you can't think deeply or concentrate without spending a lot of time alone.
Other people probably annoyed them, also. It would be hard for them to relate to the majority of people with their shallow, conventional, stupid interests.

Maybe because they like the company they keep when they are alone. Alone does not always mean lonely.
