popular by what standards?
the beyond, by fulci, is a classic among real horror fans. but it gets no respect from people who only watch mainstream movies

Hmmm . . . unpopular good horror movie . . . The Stepfather was a pretty decent horror flick that no one talks about.

I was going to recommend that, but you beat me too it! I read it had been remade a few times. The latest one was made in 2003, and yes it was scary good!

the horror flick which really freaked me out was the "Suicide circle" [ japanese ], also "the tale of two sisters" [korean] was real scary
