go to www.workingactors.com, click on actors, then marketing, then photographers. There are tons to choose from, many with websites. You can check out their work samples first and prices on their sites and only call who you're interested in. This site also has info on retouchers and copy places to make a few hundred copies :-)

BTW, Glamour Shots is completely the wrong look for a headshot. Headshots need to look like you on a good day, not you on a glammed up photo shoot. If you do not walk in the door looking like your photo, they won't call you back. Casting Director's want to see the girls in the photo walk through ther door.

Good luck!

Do NOT go to Glamour Shots... you need a reputable headshot photographer. Your headshot is your calling card as an actor and the first thing agents will see when they open your submission.
Check out reproductions.com for a list of headshot photographers in LA and they will also do reprints and retouching for you. This is where I get my copies of my headshots - they're great! Really excellent quality!

Do NOT go to "Glamor Shots"! They do not do theatrical headshots. I am a member of the Screen Actors Guild Native American Committee as was fortunate to be able to attend an event at CBS where the head of Casting for the studio critiqued our photos and resumes for the fall pilot season. Out of about a dozen of us there, there were only two who had photos worth even sending out. She said that your headshot should be absolutely amazing and must stand out big time. I asked for the name of the photographer of one of those two. I have used him and he is fantastic. Just check out his work and if you like it, go with him. Here is a link to his website:

And he does not charge an arm and a leg either.
