OK, when im online and i try to dl something, it always say you dont have permisson for anything i want to dl. But i am the only user and im admin. And it wont let me dl anything from activex Because it says"your security settings do not allow websited to use active x...." even though i went to the active x thing and enabled all of the options. Also, i tried to make another user but whenever i try to log onto it it say" problem loading user account" Help???

Reformat and install Windows XP.

1/ Right Click on the Internet Explorer Icon

2/ Select Properties with a Left Click

3/ Left Click on the Security Tab

4/ Left Click on the Internet Icon

5/ Left Click on The Custom Level Button

6/ Scroll down to "ActiveX and plug-ins"

7/ "Allow previously unused ActiveX controls to run without
prompt" - Left Click on Enable

8/ "Allow Scriptlets" - Left Click on Enable

9/ "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" - Left Click
on Enable

10/ "Binary and script behaviours" Left Click on Enable

11/ "display video and animation on a web page that does
not use external media player" - Left Click on Disable

12/ "Download signed ActiveX controls" - Left Click on
Prompt (recommended)

13/ "Download unsigned ActiveX controls" - Left Click on
Disable (recommended)

14/ "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
for scripting" - Left Click on Disable (recommended)

15/ "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" - Left Click on
Enable

19/ "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting" -
Left Click on Enable

You may have to change some of thes and other settings in order to allow certain downloads and updates, etc.

Use FireFox, I never have those problems in Vista with FF. Plus it's faster, safer and has more plugins.
