Using tampons when you are NOT ON YOUR PERIOD makes it much more likely that you will get TSS. Only use tampons for what they are intended for! At your swim meet, keep a tampon close by, but DO NOT INSERT IT IF YOU ARE NOT BLEEDING.

one thing u should know is that ur period slows and sometimes stops when ur in water, so dont worry about starting ur period in the pool.

u should probly bring some tampons with u for after practice, just in case u do start.

i advise u to not put a tampon in before u get into the wate rif u arent on ur period yet because of the risk of TSS.

hope this helped!

Ask your mom or older sister (in case you have one) for education on marvelous putting a tampon. i've got under no circumstances used tampons formerly; i'm 13 additionally and that i recently started out my era. i exploit the form of pads which you stated, and that i agree that they experience like diapers! additionally I on occasion use U with the aid of Kotex. They sell tampons too, yet i'm not sure in the event that they're good for novices. i'm hoping this helps!! (:

You can use a tampon and it won't cause any harm even if your not on your period, the only way tampons cause problems is is you don't change them frequently you can get infections because your also blocking the airflow and your body needs to breath.

Scented tampons can cause infections but non scented ones won't. Go ahead and put one in and go swimming you can take it out when your finished with no problems.

Well it depends on your cycle...mine usually start off spotting so I dont really have to worry about it but you should be okay if you put one in right b4 u get in the pool...if u r still concerned talk to your Mom or if u are uncomfortable talking to her about it call up ur doctor or gonocologist

There is no reason you can't wear a tampon just in case. If it's positioned correctly, you won't even know it's there. No, you won't get TSS just because you are not having your period.

Just wear one and don't worry.

no you will not get tss. and blood doesnt normally circulate when your in water. its okay to wear one anyway if your not sure. also you can feel when your getting it cant you? most women automatically know they have there period when it comes, no matter where they are...the pool wont be filled with blood if thats what you thinks going to happen.

TSS comes from leaving the tampon in for too long, i.e. days not hours. You should be fine.
