I've noticed that when I'm sitting still or lying in bed at night my baby moves around a lot more.
Why is it that a lot of babies are active when you are trying to rest?

# 3 on the way.

Usually the motion of moving and rocking puts them to sleep and even sometimes, while you are moving around, they are too, you're just less apt to pay attention to it until you are resting..

My baby moves more at night. I hear its because during the day we are so active and the baby can feel the movement and its floating all around in a rocking motion putting him/her to sleep. But at night there isnt as much movement from us so they tend to be up and active.

Yeah, my baby starts to kick anywhere between 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm when I am winding down for bed. I believe that when you are up doing your daily routine, it rocks the baby to sleep.

I think that sometimes you just don't notice the baby's movement as much when you are active as you do when you are still. Especially if you are trying to sleep.

Mine seemed like they were doing jumping jacks at night. I was told that when you are walking, they are floating around and getting swayed, so they are relaxed. When you sit or lie down, the swaying stops. Also, when you sit or lie down, it puts a different pressure on them so they need to adjust to get comfortable also.

because when you move the motion lulls them to sleep, when you lay down the inactivity causes them to move around.

Just like when a newborn is around, and prefers you to be moving as to sitting.
