To clarify my question, I understand why people are mad but what I don't understand is why people seem to want more justice for these animal than they do for people. I read the indictment and its horrible but why is it that Vick may get more time for killing dogs than some people do for killing other humans. To me with all the media coverage it seems that they are making a dogs life more valuable than a person. The last thing I have a question about it how much good does a person have to do to out weigh their bad? He has given to all sorts of charities including the VT charity, the Vick Football camps he puts on for kids, the Michael Vick foundation and many others so does this 1 thing make him a bad person.

It seems like the people who are convinced Vick is guilty without a trial and without hearing ALL the evidence think anyone who believes Vick has the same rights as every other American are moronic idiots. Actually, I think the opposite is true.

DON'T tell me to read the paper/learn the facts/or get my info straight . . . only ONE SIDE of the story has been told. Is Vick guilty? Maybe. Should he die in some gruesome way for his crimes if convicted? NO WAY! Some people are so ready to believe anything bad about a person that they will ignore common sense.

Vick used an alias to be treated for herpes. Been done by thousands of men and women to avoid embarrassment.

Vick flipped off some loud hecklers. NOT nice, but have you ever flipped off someone? I have.

Vick was SUSPECTED of having pot in Miami. No pot found, no charges, no "trouble with the police". I have seen water bottles with hidden compartments for sale in airport gift shops. They are designed to have a place to stash keys/cash for safe keeping on a plane or in a crowd. They are NOT illegal.

Give the man a break. If he is guilty, he deserves to be punished. If he is innocent, all you holier than thou pinheads should be required to kiss his A$%!

I think you should yourself a favor and do some research about what Vick has done for charity.

The small contributions here are simply POCKET CHANGE to a man that WAS worth over $130 million

Check out the link below if you want to see how little the cretin actually donated to charity--His camps were cancelled and if you click on the VICK foundation link, it is no longer functioning either, its just a screen with the name VICK FOUNDATION, no further details or ability to scroll the sight. What does that tell you?

Even if he HAD followed through with all the charity work that is mentioned on the website, it would still be far too little for a man of his means.

Unbelievable..but why should we be surprised? it is very obvious this is a very selfish and self centered person.

And...Michael Vick can never undo the damage he has done to his reputation. He is done for, nothing he could ever do would ever give me the ability to look at his face and not picture starved, tortured, ripped apart, abused, dead dogs.

Okay... then by your logic than
John Wayne Casey (the serial killer) shouldn't have been put to death for killing over 20 people cause he was a clown at kids birthday parties and was a father and husband...

There is a lot of people who lead double lives out there.. Just because someone does 1 or a few things good.. That gives them a "Get Out Of Jail Free Card" when they do something wrong.. ???? If Vick had a DWI, an simple assult case, or something like that... He would have gotten of with a slap on the wrist.. He burned, shot, beaten and drowned innocent dogs because they lost a fight, they shouldn't have even been in to begin with... Com'on are you serious... You don't see what's going on here...

What kind of IDIOT are you ????

Because this isn't the first time his character has come into question--Ron Mexico, the middle fingers, the water bottle incident, and now this.

Yes, he obviously could be doing worse things, but 1) no one is claiming that a dog's/animal's life is more valuable than a human's, 2) he straight up lied to Roger Goddell and said that he wasn't involved, and 3) just because there are worse things he could be doing doesn't mean he's absolved of this.

The man has made some insanely bad choices in his life, and now he's going to pay for it.

And so what if he's done good to the community. Just because he's donated all this money we should give him a free pass? That's the kind of logic that enables dumb idiot celebrities and athletes to get away with this kind of bull ****. He's done more harm to the community by having animals maim and kill each other for sport and gambling. Is that the kind of person you want as a role model for your children?

Because an Athlete is supposed to be a Role Model. Whether an athlete wants it or not, Children look up to these people.

Another thing is that a dog is more defensless than human, and it strikes a cord in most people, that a person could kill something defensless, is what causes some people to find it more despicable than killing a person.

To answer your last question. One in almost every case can never do enough good to outweigh the bad of something like what vick has done....

I've been outraged as a Falcon fan because they pay him $15 million a year to go 7-9. That's a very poor return on investment. The dog thing is just one more thing on top of flipping off the fans twice, saying he quit in a game, and his little Ron Mexico fiasco long before the dog fighting story broke, so it's not 1 thing, it's a string of many. Personally, I hope he never takes another snap for the Falcons

I agree that this is getting way too much attention. If i was the one who was being indicted for this, i bet no one would even hear about it. The media needs a new sports "scandal" for ratings.

I'm reading half of the answers on here.. and everyones saying how Vick deserves to go to jail and he's a bad role model and all this. I'm thinking... What ever happened to the justice system. Innocent until proven guilty... A right to trial by jury? Let the jury decide if he actually commited the crimes he's been accused of. If he did, then he should serve his time like the rest of us would. If he's found not guilty, then let him live his life. But don't judge the man until he's been proven guilty...

Because he is funding his charity work with money gained from running a criminal empire in Surry County, Va. Complete with dog fighting/gambling, drug sales, buying off the local law enforcement, etc. The big question is: What in the hell are those Vick supporters doing holding signs that say, "Black Atlanta Loves #7"? They are making this strictly racial. They are also hurting the majority of blacks who are not racial, and want Vick to go away and not be a negative influence on their kids.

I don't agree with dog fighting, but when you look at in a wider perspective it's actually quiet common. People bet on horse races and greyhounds too. Granted they don't fight to the death but the injured/unprofitable animals aren't given the golden ticket to the Wonka factory.

All cows, sheep, chickens, pigs, etc. raised in this country have horror stories of mistreatment or neglect. Even people are allowed to fight in those blood soaked UFC fights; again they don't fight to the death but it's still pretty nasty.

Vick is a temporary whipping post. It's only getting air time because it's controversial and ESPN/SI/etc can exploit the news for money. After this is over you won't hear any follow up on how it's changed dog fighting.

They've already slandered his name and I doubt he could ever walk into a stadium again without being booed full force. Even if Vick is innocent there's no amount of good he could ever do to resuscitate his public image.

Anyone who can do that to an animal is not a good person in my opinion. Sometimes you can't make up for bad things you have done just because you have done good things. He is supposed to be a hero to little kids and is not setting a good example here. Should someone get more time for killing dogs than humans?... no, but if someone had killed a person in this cruel way, they would be subject to capital punishment.
