I actually tried to avoid spoilers before the book came out (tried!), and I was really into the book while reading it that I basically forgot about Internet.

No, but I'm certainly trying to avoid the category set out for Books & Authors for fear of boredom now Harry Potter has been released.

Not working too well.

yup, I had both Order and Half-Blood Prince ruined months prior to release. There was a guy who got inside information from a friend who worked at the printer that was producing the first runs. He posted huge spoilers, without any kinda of warning, on a web-board I use to frequent about 4 months prior to release. And of course the posts were the short kind that you read too quickly then wish you could scrub them from your brain.

Absolutely and I still do not want to know what happens until I read the book for myself! However, I have a suspicion that my 7 year old grandson will spoil the surprise as he has almost finished it already and cannot wait to tell me how it all ends.

I'll have to try bribing him not to tell. lol

*blubbers* I ... I didn't ... get ... to finish. But I thought ... after a week ... the spoilers would've died down. ... The book has been ruined for me!!!

=(

Oh, well, I guess I wasted 18.99 when everyone just spills everything about the book and wrecks it for other people. I didn't even click on a question about HP spoilers!! People just posted questions with spoilers like, "Are you glad that so-and-so died?"

=(

I only read the book in my bedroom for 28 hours. Never left it except to go to the bog

I did not watch TV, listen to the radio, or get online until I finished the book. Fortunately, I read very quickly.

Yeah, I did! Luckily I'm a fast reader so I wasn't gone long, but I really didn't want to know the end until I read it for myself!
