he barely moves at all and doesnt it much food

If you don;t see any phycial signs of a problem, I would recommend you check the wtaer quality and temperature of the tank. The temperature soube be in the upper 70's and the main thing you wan to avoid in the water quality is ammonia and nitrites. If you don't have a test kit for these, take a cup of your tank water to any pet shop and they can test it for you.

Many fish are community species, and only thrive with others like them in the tank. If this little guy is the only dwarf gourami, he could need company. You also didn't say how long you've had him. I have had some fish last only a few hours because they are more sensitive to moving and being put into a new tank.

it probably needs to adjust to the tempereature of the water first or you have to put it in a different sized tank because it might be too spacious for it. Get a small tank like a 2 gallon tank depending on the size of the fish.

how big is the tank?
what other fish are in there?

what do you add to the tank?

he probably not use too the tank yet.. or check the water chemicals and temp.
