I got glasses when I was in 4th or 5th grade and I dont even remember how long I'd needed them for. But I think that this may be a habit I still carry from before I got my glasses when I had to bring my face closer to my paper to see clearly. Is this something that a child who needs glasses would do? The only thing that doesnt make sense about this theory to me is that I am nearsighted, which means that I cant see well at a distance but I can see close-up things fine. I'm 21 years old now and people have commented multiple times on it and now I get really self-conscious about it. I also used to write with a heavy hand. My 3rd grade teacher told me that if my pen could talk that it would scream instead. I dont know if that makes any kind of difference.

It wouldn't hurt to have another eye exam, from a opthalmologist, not an optometrist.

Maybe you were stressed when you were learning to write, so you felt tense. My son has a "coding" problem--he has a hard time transferring writing from one place to another--copying. Maybe the difficulty distressed you.
